Meet our
Instructors

The Academy’s expert instructors are among the finest and most respected in the nation.

Instructors

Nick, Ryan, and Kyle are passionate about playing and teaching the game of golf. Over the years, they’ve enjoyed success in golf tournaments across Texas, frequently competing together as partners or as a team.

Under the mentorship of Bill Moretti, the Academy’s founder and a member of the Texas Golf Hall of Fame, they developed and refined their skills as teaching professionals. Kyle joined the Academy of Golf in 2005, with Nick and Ryan following in 2006. In that time, they’ve collectively taught over 10,000 students across more than 750 three-day golf schools.

As of January 2025, they are proud to be the new owners of the Academy. Committed to upholding its legacy, they are excited to integrate cutting-edge technology and new offerings that will continue to help students elevate their golf game.

Nick Hollis

Nick grew up in nearby Lakeway, Texas and played on the Lake Travis High School Golf Team before playing for Temple Junior College and then professionally. Nick spent two years as a golf professional at Live Oak and Yaupon Golf Courses at the Hills Country Club, before joining the Academy in 2006 and starting a long-term career as a teaching pro. Nick has continued playing in tournaments across the state, winning the last Blaine McCallister Invitational with Ryan in 2018.

Ryan Cromwell

Owner

Academy of Golf Teaching Professional,
2006-2024

Ryan grew up outside of Austin and played on the Hays High School Golf Team with Kyle. From there he played in college at UTSA and Texas State, earning a spot on the traveling five. After college, Ryan worked at the Hills Country Club before joining the Academy as a teaching professional, where he developed a passion for both teaching and playing the game. Ryan played on several Hannon Cup teams, and has continued playing in tournaments across Texas, winning that last Blaine McCallister Invitational Tournament with Nick in 2018.

Kyle Edwards

Owner

Academy of Golf Teaching Professional,
2005-2024

Kyle grew up outside of Austin and played on the Hays High School Golf Team with Ryan. He was the Austin City Champion in 2005, outlasting PGA Tour Winner Jhonattan Vegas in a playoff. From there he played in college at Texas State, earning a spot on the travelling team all four years. After college, the Academy hired Kyle as a teaching professional. Kyle played on several Hannon Cup teams and has continued to have success playing in tournaments across Texas.

“I have known and worked with Nick, Kyle, and Ryan for many years. This team of instructors are all plus handicaps and they know what they tell you will work on the course and in tournament play. They have taught golfers hands-on for many years and do not promote a method or a teaching aid. This is the type of experience that can truly help golfers on and off the course. I would not give my recommendation if I didn’t believe that the Academy is the best instructional school for golfers at ALL levels.”

— Bill Moretti, Academy of Golf Dynamics Founder
